| EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION About 7.8 % of the total cases of malaria are reported from urban areas. Maximum numbers of malaria cases are reported from Chennai, Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada Vadodara, Allahabad, Badaun, Bellary, Kolkata, Greater Mumbai, Pune, Ratlam etc. The comparative epidemiological profile of malaria during 2002-2008 in all urban towns of the country is as follows:
